Posing as the FTC, guaranteeing a 700+ score, and charging $2,000 upfront.

I can't believe they were getting away with this for three years...

Why People Hesitate From Getting Their Credit Repair Done

As a credit repair expert one thing I am convinced of is that people know when their credit is damaged. The one thing I have often wondered is why do people hesitate to get their credit cleaned up? It would seem like a natural reaction, that if you know your credit is damaged to get it fixed. The truth is a lot of people know they need credit repair but do not move forward when they have the opportunity.... So I wondered why?
First: They do not believe that credit repair can truly work. In all honesty I can understand people believing that because there is a huge myth that people buy into that if you have bad credit there is no way it can be cleaned up. That is simply not true. In essence there is certain guidelines that must be met under the Fair Credit Reporting Act in order for items to be reporting on your credit bureaus and as well all know, there is a ton of inaccurate information on people's credit reports.
Second: In this age of the internet, people search for help regarding credit repair. I have no doubt that inevitably they are going to read someone's totally erroneous comments that say something to the effect that "You shouldn't ever pay a credit repair company because they are scammers. You can do it yourself." So, they try to do it themselves. It can be done, but it can be an overwhelming task and most people don't have the time and patience to commit to the process.
Third: It takes too long to fix my credit....Another reason that people seem to use to hold them back. Now the short answer to this is that in reality a person does not see their credit get damaged overnight they can not expect their credit to go up overnight. However in reality it does take time if the credit repair company does it right and properly. Normal turnaround time is about 4-8 months to see a person see their scores go up to where they need them to be.
Fourth: It costs too much: Well that depends on how you look at it. Let's say a person pays $200 set up and analysis fee and $100 a month and they are in the program for a year. So they have paid $1300 for the whole year to raise their scores. Now let's say they bought a used car and they also have to pay $320 a month because of their credit. They have paid $3840 for a used car in a year. How can they not afford to get their credit cleaned up.
The last reason: Embarrassment. For a lot of people their credit is a private issue and we can certainly understand that but if you have been turned down because of your credit do not let your fear of embarrassment keep you from moving forward. A quality credit repair company will keep all of your info private and confidential and you can rest easy knowing you have taken the right steps to fix your credit and buy that new home or car you are looking to get into.
If you have damaged credit and are trying to decide if it is worth it to you to get your credit fixed, message or give me a call and I can talk to you and even do a free credit consultation with you.

The Credit Bureaus Agree to Overhaul How They Repair Credit

A plan was announced as part of an agreement with New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman and Equifax Information Services, Experian Information Solutions and TransUnion on how they will change the way they handle errors and list unpaid medical bills as the beginning of the largest overhaul in over ten years.
Just some of the changes will be ...
  • Medical debts won't be reported until after a "waiting period" of 180 days to allow insurance payments to be made.
  • The bureaus will also remove from credit reports previously reported medical collections that have been or are being paid by insurance.
  • Data furnishers must meet higher criteria that will be reviewed and reinforced by the credit bureaus for them to be continuously reported.
  • Data furnishers won't report authorized users without their birth date and the bureaus will repair the unverifiable information by deleting the entire tradeline .
